Background

At Airbnb, we are committed to delivering magical travel through healthy tourism that is local, authentic, diverse, inclusive and sustainable.

Aligning Airbnb's vision with India's immense tourism potential, our Co-founder and CEO, Mr. Brian Chesky, met the Hon'ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi and shared how Airbnb envisions to support the government's Skill India Mission by creating 50,000 hospitality entrepreneurs (including at least 15,000 women), and providing comprehensive hospitality skills training in rural and underserved areas.

To create a robust homestay ecosystem and successfully empower rural communities, especially women, Airbnb needed to develop a strategic, integrated public affairs campaign to work closely with the government, grassroot partners, local communities and local media.
