Life without travel was unimaginable but the unforeseen challenges of the pandemic made the thought of travel nearly impossible. Before the collapse of international travel caused by the COVID-19 crisis, the industry was booming and had nearly touched 1.5 billion people taking foreign trips in 2019. However, that wasn't the case anymore as international tourist arrivals declined globally by 73% in 2020, according to the World Tourism Organization.
