As loaded rhetorical questions go, Jean Halliday's headline 'Is Bob Lutz the Right Guy to Run GM's Marketing?' deserves an Oscar. In just ten words Halliday, AdAge's Detroit bureau boss, not only asks that question but answers it.

Namely: that by implication he is not.

Invoking tired but convenient, non-attributable journalistic clichés - like "the question being bandied about in advertising circles …" - Ms...
