Ofcom: Building safer digital spaces for children online

Ofcom, who oversee and enforce regulations for online safety, and BMG formed a partnership to gain a thorough understanding of how young people in the UK navigate their digital landscape, exposure to online harms and how these occur.


Online platforms have provided great benefits - supporting the free flow of news and information and creating unprecedented potential for self-expression and global community. For children, they have provided new opportunities to learn, socialise and interact with the world. However, the rapid growth of new services, the scale and diversity of online activity, and the ease of disseminating harmful content has created undoubted challenges.
