I'd like to talk about problems and opportunities and the importance of not confusing them. Particularly when we get so much help in the confusion.

THE GULLIBILITY GAP

First among our obstacles is something the British call the Gullibility Gap. By that I mean our capacity to believe almost anything so long as it is bad news. We've had a lot of bad news lately, and it's rather amazing how many people fall into the Gullibility Gap, or the Gullibility Trap, and keep on worrying about things which clearly are unlikely...
