Next Generation Manufacturing Canada (NGen), the non-profit manufacturing organisation, addressed the problems surrounding the future of advanced manufacturing in Canada.

Background

Next Generation Manufacturing Canada ("NGen'') is an industry-led, not-for-profit organization driving Canada's most advanced manufacturing projects. NGen is founded on the principle that digital transformation in manufacturing enriches the lives of Canadians, delivering better products and good jobs while generating the economic growth essential to a better future.

Importantly, NGen administers Canada's Advanced Manufacturing Supercluster - one of five national networks led by the Government Department of Innovation, Science and Economic Development ("ISED"). ISED's mandate is to facilitate future growth in Canada's most promising industries.

The future of advanced manufacturing in Canada, however, is in peril.
