Chocolate consumption and Cacao Plan
According to Statista, in 2013 per capita chocolate consumption in Mexico was less than 5.25 kilograms and had a significant increase to just over 6.75 in 2020. However, the same company estimates that the per capita volume consumed of chocolate candy in Mexico will decrease over the next three years, before increasing again to around 6.9 kilograms in 2026.
In addition to the above, consumers are increasingly concerned about sustainability and health, so producers are seeking to achieve organic standards to ensure practices that benefit them, as well as the environment and shoppers.
