Objective

In an increasingly crowded robo-advisor environment, we had to find a way to break through and show users how Essential Portfolios, a new managed portfolio offering from TD Ameritrade Investment Management, LLC, an advisory affiliate of TD Ameritrade, can work for them in a fun way. We saw an opportunity to increase awareness around the new product portfolios and created a platform allowing users to connect their Facebook profile for a personality analysis powered by IBM Watson. Our algorithm pulled in relevant images pulled from the user's Facebook profile that tied back to the personality traits that were identified, giving every person a completely unique output. We then were able to offer Essential Portfolios as an investment solution for that unique user. After all, getting to know yourself and your goals is the first step to becoming a better investor.
