Two years ago, BritainThinks first asked the public this question, and we repeated it this autumn. A lot has happened in that time and 'events', including the EU referendum and a surprising election, have shaped our expectations. Back in 2015, our poll revealed 'being a great communicator' as the top leadership attribute. Now, in an apparent rejection of the Blair/Cameron era, smooth-talking communications skills have dropped down the ranking, overtaken by 'integrity' - up 10% and now at number one.
