This paper argues that the whole media world is moving inexorably into a digital future, and that those who are willing to embrace it wholeheartedly (as Apple and Amazon have done) will gain at the expense of those who are hesitant to change; this is illustrated in the music business by the share price of Amazon since 2005 compared against Warner and HMV, and in DVD sales by the shares of Netfix against Blockbuster Video.
