Loyalty, social commerce and CX: Three e-commerce trends to watch in SEA

As rising prices, inflation and economic uncertainty lead to consumers spending less and less often, brands can take note of three e-commerce trends when adjusting to the new normal.

Southeast Asia is the next big e-commerce powerhouse, says Bharati Balakrishnan, Shopify’s Country Head and Director for India and SEA.

“Despite global macro headwinds, Southeast Asia’s digital economy reached US$200 billion in GMV last year,” she said at Shopify’s ‘Commerce trends digital briefing: Southeast Asia’ webinar.

“With now more than 350 billion digital consumers, Southeast Asia is set to leapfrog China to become the fastest growing digital economy in Asia Pacific."
