Kids Help Phone, a charitable organisation, subverted the distinction between youth and adult mental health problems by sharing monologues based on the transcripts of children who use their phone service.

Kids Help Phone (KHP) is Canada's only national, bilingual, 24/7 e-mental health service offering free, confidential support to any young person in any moment of crisis or need. Despite its name, it exists for people aged between 5 and 29, and its services extend beyond the phone to text, chat, web resources, and a peer forum.

In 2021, service demand for KHP skyrocketed, increasing 137% YOY. Yet adult Canadians continued to underestimate the scale of the youth mental health crisis occurring nationally.
