If you live in London, then the reasons to use public transport are fairly conclusive – a long established and integrated network, good coverage, reasonably priced, relatively reliable and frequent. More importantly the downsides of the alternative, i.e. using your own car, are wholly unpalatable – massive congestion, lack of and very expensive parking, and more recently the introduction of “congestion charges” designed specifically to price the private car off the roads of central London.
