The digital liquor market is burgeoning in Australia. The ‘eCommerce Expansion’ webinar by IRi and Growth Scope showed that there was significant growth and sales uplift in 2021 compared to 2020.
Annual sales for all retail were A$369.5 billion, of which A$41.5 billion was from online sales and accounting for 11.2% for all sales dollars. Online growth was 27% compared to all retail sales, which only grew by 5.6% – close to one-fifth of online growth.
