BACKGROUND: THE POLICY CONTEXT

The Neighbourhood Renewal Unit (part of the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister) and the Office for National Statistics are leading the development of a new internet service called the Neighbourhood Statistics Service (NeSS). At its heart is the aim to supply the information needs for those working to implement the National Strategy for Neighbourhood Renewal.
