Integrated communications. Medianeutrality. 360o. Total branding. The jargon proliferates, but the concept of integrated communications (IMC) has been around for at least 25 years, and a subject for academic analysis for more than ten.

In principle, the concept is obvious. If you have a variety of ways in which you can speak to your customers, and your customers have a variety of ways in which they might want to find out about you, it makes sense to ensure that wherever contact is made, broadly the same message about your brand is communicated.
