Gen Z, younger millennials' online purchases most influenced by social media

The report summarizes purchase behavior by age groups observed in a survey of US shoppers conducted by Ipsos.

Upwards of 60% of the younger generation of US shoppers find their online buys through social media, according to a survey published by Ipsos investigating shopping behavior.

In a survey of 1,120 US-based adults of varying ages, those aged between 18 and 34 were most likely to buy something they found on social media. Sixty three percent of all respondents in that age bracket said they purchase items online after having discovered them on social media.
