UK train operators First Great Western and First Great Western Link, as part of the First Group transportation company, launched a new combined winter timetable on the 12th December 2004.

This fully integrated timetable promised substantial customer and performance benefits to many areas across the South West, the Cotswolds, the Thames and Kennet Valleys and South Wales.
