Concerns about economic hardship in light of rising inflation are making it harder for even the most eco-conscious consumers around the world to make sustainable choices, a study by Kantar, the research firm, has found.
There has been a marked global decline in the proportion of consumers who prioritise sustainability when choosing fast-moving consumer goods, and 45% of people agreed it’s recently become more difficult to act sustainably because of the social or financial constraints they were facing.
