Satya Nadella, the CEO of Microsoft, had big shoes to fill when he took the top spot at the company in 2014. His emphasis early on, was quite different than that of founder Bill Gates and was perceived as controversial: Microsoft would turn away from going head-to-head with its competition in the form of Linux and Apple.
