From Internet of Things to “Intelligence of Things”: how a new generation of smart gadgets will transform the consumer experience

The "Internet of Things" is set to give way to the "Intelligence of Things" as artificial intelligence (AI) becomes an increasingly widespread element of consumers' lives.

Marketers witnessed an explosion in the number of channels available to reach consumers over the last decade, as the range of devices, apps and content platforms increased dramatically.

This trend often appears to be sprawling outwards in infinite directions, with no clear underlying logic. But Steve Koenig, vp/research at the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), the trade body, believes a common thread links many of these seismic changes in the technology, media and entertainment categories.
