Steve Koenig believes a seismic change is underway in the technology space.
“We are fast approaching a new era of consumer technology,” Koening informed delegates at CES 2019, an event held by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), the industry body where he serves as vp/market research.
“Here, in 2019, I think we’re really coming to the end of the connected age of consumer technology.”
This period, he argued, has been epitomized by devices like smartphones, high-definition televisions, and other gizmos that served as bellwethers for the digital revolution. But the growth of the Internet of Things (IoT) – where gadgets and appliances can interact with each other, and even make decisions, without the need for human intervention – is pointing towards an information-driven future.
