Campbell's reinvents itself with acquisitions, new DNA offering

The Campbell Soup Company, the food group, is aiming to keep pace with changing consumer needs by launching an innovative new health-and-wellness product.

Campbell Soup Co. is moving in a new (and unlikely) interactive direction with the quiet launch of Habit, a nutrition-focused enterprise that uses at-home tests to make personalized food recommendations tailored to an individual's DNA.

"With the emergence of technology, it's not enough to just say, 'Here's a diet; it's good for everybody,'" explained Carlos J. Barroso, SVP/Global Research and Development and Quality at the food manufacturer.
