Technology has had a tremendous impact on our social life, on the ways in which we access and share information or entertain ourselves. An interesting manifestation of this trend can be found in our living rooms where we are slowly witnessing a seismic shift in television viewing habits. Convergence of new technologies and social media platforms have triggered a whole new way for viewers to engage with TV content over the past few years.
This paper provides an analysis of the current social television revolution in Latin America by studying the history and influence of social media, technologies and how they have merged with the entertainment world to provide society with a brand new way to engage with the world.
