E-commerce now more important to Walmart's bottom line than during COVID

An overview of the performance of Walmart's e-commerce business during Q1 2023.

According to estimates based on Walmart’s Q1 2023 Earnings report, the retailer's e-commerce sales have grown by 27% during the first three months of this year to a value of $14.5bn. This represents a continuing acceleration of growth in Walmart’s e-commerce segment that began almost a year ago. The latest results show that e-commerce penetration is now at 14% of Walmart's total sales, a level higher than during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.
