In New Zealand ITP's (Institutes of Technology / Polytechnics) and Universities are the dominant tertiary education providers. Historically their difference was vocational training versus more academic qualifications. However with demands from businesses changing rapidly, the lines have blurred. While Unitec was a leading ITP, many people saw them as inferior to University. The result was steadily declining applications. The objectives were to improve active consideration +5% and increase Semester 1 2017 applications by +10% YOY.
