Consumers are expecting to spend more on food and drink this festive holiday season but less on gifts, home goods, furnishings and travel, according to data from Kantar.

A quarter (23%) of consumers said they expect to spend more on food and drink this festive season when compared to previous years, with 17% saying they expect to spend less. This increase is largest for households with children (31% spending more), compared to single adult households (11%).
