Close to 93 million people in India suffer from chronic respiratory diseases, according to The Global Burden of Disease Report, and of this, around 37 million are asthmatics. India also accounts for over 42% of all global asthma deaths, making it the asthma capital of the world. In addition to adults, asthma is the most common chronic disorder among children in India as well.
