China’s Gen Z internet users grow to 342 million, consuming seven hours of online media per day

The number of active Gen Z online users in China has grown 60% to 342 million in four years. The group consumes seven hours of digital media per day per capita, nearly 160 hours per month on average, according to a recent Gen Z media habit analysis by QuestMobile. As defined in the report, the group consists of people born from 1996 onwards.

Mobile streaming takes up most of Gen Z’s total media usage time, as high as 37.4%, followed by social (28.5%) and gaming entertainment (7.9%). China’s Gen Z users also tend to spend more time...
