The metaverse has witnessed an accelerated marketing hype cycle, as initial enthusiasm was soon displaced by waning interest and, in some quarters, cynicism about the whole concept.
But at this year’s installment of CES, an annual bellwether conference held by the Consumer Technology Association which brings together the latest in tech hardware and digital innovation, a renewed feeling of optimism was tangible when discussing the types of virtual experience that the metaverse can deliver in the longer term.
