CALM: Project 84

The Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM), a charity, created a striking public installation in the UK to increase awareness of male suicide and suicide prevention.
  • CALM needed to get the nation to talk, affect systematic change through a concrete change in governmental policy and stop more men from killing themselves.
  • A total of "4,500 men committing suicide a year is impossible to understand and 12 men a day is impossible to appreciate, but 84 men every week is impossible to ignore".
  • In partnership with TV programme This Morning, CALM created Project 84, in which 84 male statues were placed on the top of the ITV tower as a haunting and unmissable visualisation of the number of men who take their own lives every week...
