Brook: How a campaign about nudes got the government to change the law

Brook, a sexual wellness charity, launched Never Sent Without Consent, primarily as an OOH campaign, to encourage the UK government to amend the Online Safety Bill to include cyberflashing as a crime.

Executive Summary

Cyberflashing, is the act of sending unsolicited nudes and it was becoming an epidemic. 76% of girls under the age of 18yrs and 48% of women and 24% of men aged 18 – 24 yrs had been sent an unsolicited nude they did not ask for.

They were incredibly psychologically damaging and the anonymous nature of them rendered victims powerless to do anything. Despite all this, it still wasn't illegal.
