The Latin American telecommunications market is liberalizing. Former state-owned monopolies are being privatized, investment by foreign telecommunications companies is being encouraged, and competitive wireless services are being offered. Wireless telecommunications equipment and service providers are particularly interested in opportunities in Brazil. It is the largest national economy in the region, has a population of 155,000,000, and only 15% of them use a mobile telephone....
