Details data collected by GlobalWebIndex between April 8-14 in the US and UK, dedicated to work behaviors in the coronavirus outbreak.
  • Staff have borne the brunt of company actions mitigating against the coronavirus, as, in the UK, the most prominent measure put in place has been to furlough staff (33%).
  • In the absence of similar, widespread support from the US federal government at this time, the outbreak has mostly forced employers to change the working hours for employees (40%) or to freeze hiring (28%).
  • There’s never been a better time for remote working, with just over half of current employees in the UK and the US reporting that the company they work for is equipped for a fully remote workforce.
