Alimenta la Solidaridad: Gardens of Hope

Alimenta la Solidaridad, a non-governmental organisation, launched a volunteer programme that rescues unused lots and uses them to plant vegetables and legumes to help the food shortage crisis in Venezuela.

Campaign Summary

We are rescuing vacant urban lots and preparing them for planting vegetables and legumes that are given to the Organization's volunteers so that they can use them in their daily menu dishes.

The surplus food collected is being sold in popular markets at a better price for people living in nearby urbanizations. The money collected will be used to enable new gardens or maintain them.

Over 16,328 people were benefited.

More than 254 community kitchens are been stocked with these crops.

We are supplying with ingredients to around 10,000 daily meals.
