Adstats: UK adspend forecast

Uses WARC and Advertising Association data to predict ad expenditure in 2018.

UK adspend rose 4.6% to £22.2bn in 2017, the eighth consecutive year of market growth, according to data from the AA/WARC Expenditure Report. A further rise, of 4.2%, is expected this year, buoyed by an 8.9% increase in spend on internet formats. Internet adspend is expected to amount to £12.6bn this year, equating to a 2.5 percentage point gain in total market share. Much of the internet growth is being driven by mobile, which is expected to account for almost half of all online spend this year.
