In 1991 I collected every unsolicited mailshot I received and made notes about them. (The total was 530.)

So whats changed a decade later? Or are mailshotters still making the same mistakes? This is what happened in the first seven delivery days of 2002.

DAY 1

1. The Bank of Scotland is having a Sale (its expression not mine). It wants to lend me 15,000. APR 9.9%.

2. Barclaycard, however, wants me to spend 14,000 with the cheques it has sent me. APR only 5.9%....
