It was a nice sunny afternoon in 2019 when I went to my daughter’s school open day, a day where students from each class showcased a subject they felt deeply about, such as gender violence, bush fires, climate change, child abuse, toxic urbanisation, corruption and neglected senior citizens.

It made me think about when we were in school and we didn’t spare a thought for the world, nor did the world demand attention to existing wrongs....
