UK household SVOD penetration reaching a plateau

An overview of CTV consumption in the UK.

UK households spent more time consuming broadcaster video-on-demand (BVOD) and video-sharing platforms last year, while linear TV viewership continued its decline and SVOD’s share of total video viewing remained flat, according to Ofcom’s latest Media Nations UK report. 

On average, UK households spent 60% of daily total viewing time (four hours and 28 minutes) on linear TV, 46 minutes on video-sharing platforms such as YouTube, and 37 minutes on SVOD/AVOD in 2022.
