Walmart's Vudu stands out in the streaming space by appealing to busy families

Vudu, the streaming service owned by Walmart, is seeking to stand out in a competitive industry through a focus on mass-market, family appeal.

Walmart is the dominant US retail player, but very much a challenger in the video streaming space.

Vudu, the retailer’s online video platform, is supported by advertising – a business model that makes it free-to-access for consumers across the United States. And, with a content slate of over 10,000 films and television shows – including titles from major studios like Sony, Paramount, Warner Bros and Disney – it already has a registered user base of 25 million people, according to the most recent figures announced by the company.
