95% of US teens use YouTube while Facebook teen usage falls 39%

An overview of the social media consumption landscape among American teens in 2022.

YouTube stands out as the most commonly used online platform for teens in the US in 2022, as high as 95%, according to a recent study conducted by the Pew Research Center on ten online platforms: YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook, Twitter, Twitch, WhatsApp, Reddit, and Tumblr.

TikTok is the second most-used platform reported by US teens (67%), followed by Instagram (62%), and Snapchat (59%). The number of teens using Facebook has declined significantly, a 39-point decrease from 2014-15; however, it is still used by a higher percentage of teens than platforms like Twitch...
