New data suggests that consumer trust in the travel industry was significantly damaged during the COVID-19 pandemic, and companies will need to demonstrate an overt commitment to the health and wellbeing of travellers as travel ramps up again.
Why it matters
Rather than an imminent travel boom catalysed by vaccines, consumers are taking more of a cautiously optimistic approach and 64% say how a company responded during the pandemic will affect continued purchasing in the future.
