Artificial Intelligence (AI)
Generative AI
United States
A third of Americans could be using generative AI programs within the next two years, with ChatGPT responsible for the bulk of that.
A study from Insider Intelligence, reported by Fast Company, forecasts usage of such apps will rocket this year, reaching around 78 million users compared to 8 million in 2022.
Why it mattersThat’s just the start: by 2025, Insider Intelligence predicts that there will be almost 117 million users of generative AI as the tech becomes embedded in the workplace. Key predictions- During 2023, more than 20% of all US internet users will use ChatGPT.
- This year, ChatGPT will account for 79% of users of all generative AI apps; its share will drop in following years as the tech becomes widespread with multiple options for users.
- Millennials and Gen X will be the main users of generative AI, initially at least, as many of the Gen Z cohort have yet to enter the workplace.
