Podcasts in the sport and news categories attract the most programmatic advertising investment, according to data from audio publishing platform Omny Studio.
Why it matters
The United States alone accounts for almost 60% of all downloads and is still growing quickly. This may represent a missed opportunity for some advertisers, though, as an audio investment gap does appear to exist.
Podcast audiences are also rising rapidly across the world. For example, downloads rose by 552% in Turkey, by 524% in India and by 388% in Mexico.
