Marketers expect to increase both brand and performance marketing spend over the next year, according to a survey conducted for the WARC Marketer’s Toolkit 2023.

In turbulent times, doing nothing is rarely an ideal option, but it seems businesses are moving beyond a knee-jerk reaction to cut brand spending and boost performance investment during a period of economic recession. The data indicates that they are taking on board the idea that cutting brand investment at such times is a short-term fix that will almost certainly leave them in a worse place come recovery.
