Hootsuite/We Are Social’s Digital 2022 report is out, with global insights into a year in which social media use is up, social commerce is here, and advertising is facing a reckoning.

Why it matters

While it may have felt like online life couldn’t be more saturated with social media, it continues to gain users and time spent. But interestingly, there is no one dominant platform: the average number of social platforms used each month is 7.5. There is space outside the biggest.
