Half of consumers use at least two SVOD services
Subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) continues to attract new audiences as consumers take advantage of the multiple services available, according to data from market analysts Ampere.
Why it matters
Subscription video services have eroded audiences from linear TV and this shows no sign of stopping as consumers add additional services to their list.
Traditional broadcasters can tap into this trend, though. Having multiple subscriptions can be expensive for consumers, so cheaper but ad-supported video-on-demand (AVOD) may prove appealing. Broadcasters would also be able to tap into growing advertiser interest in digital TV campaigns.
