Advertising expenditure is set to decline by 10.2% – or $63.4bn – to $557.3bn in 2020, the latest forecasts from WARC Data show.

Based on information from 100 markets across the globe, WARC Data’s “Global Ad Trends: The State of the Industry 2020/21” report helped quantify the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and related economic fallout:
- 2020 will be the worst year on record for traditional media in WARC's 40-year history of market monitoring, with adspend declines of 46.5% for cinema, 27.3% for OOH and 16.1% for linear TV.
