The growth in digital marketing budgets accelerated strongly in December, according to the latest figures from WARC Data's Global Marketing Index (GMI).
Why it matters
While growth slowed for digital and mobile budgets between July and October, it has since accelerated in November and December. This is likely a result of brands engaging online shoppers during the festive season. Strong growth in digital and mobile budgets is likely to continue, as e-commerce will account for a third (33%) of retail sales this year.
