Cheil Worldwide and partner companies agree on eco-friendly practices
Cheil Worldwide and 96 partner companies have signed an environment-friendly practice pledge that includes forming consensus and carrying out tasks at content production sites to fulfill eco-friendly practices – the first such collaboration between an advertising firm and its partner companies in South Korea.
Why it matters
In line with growing awareness on ESG (environmental, social and corporate governance) management across diverse industries, the initiative aims to help Cheil’s partner companies understand business purpose and encourage their participation since success requires the effort of all the companies involved in content production.
Key insights
- Adopt environment-friendly practices to minimise waste and improve energy efficiency at content production sites.
- Examine long-term use of green energy to extend idea generation and content creation centred on eco-friendliness.
- Enhance health and safety at content production sites, with Cheil providing safety manuals to prevent fatal accidents.
- Eco-friendly materials are preferred on sets and for props, and used clothing and props should be recycled to reduce waste.
- To improve energy efficiency, Cheil and partners will use high-efficiency equipment for filming, lighting, sound recording and editing, while expanding use of electric cars and solar batteries.
